Celebrating the Complete Solar Eclipse

On April 8, 2024 the continental United States will experience a visible total eclipse for the 2nd time in over 100 years. Sixty-five to ninety (65% - 90%) percent of the sun will be covered by the moon. This is a historic event and one that we want our students to take part in. Safety is always our top priority and we will take all the precautionary means with our staff and students to have a safe and enjoyable experience. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has stated that homemade filters and sunglasses are not for looking at the sun. https://science.nasa.gov/eclipse/safety We will instruct students to not look at the un-eclipsed or partially eclipsed sun without eclipse-safe glasses. Due to the safety concerns we are requesting permission from parents in order for students to participate in the event using the eclipse glasses which will be provided by Stewart County Schools. Staff members will encourage students to wear the solar glasses once schools are dismissed since most students are likely to look at the eclipse.

Scholars visit Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Columbus GA

As an integral part of the Get Fit Lit Community Action Plan for Stewart County Schools, fourth-grade scholars embarked on an inspiring visit to Barnes and Noble Booksellers in Columbus, GA, on Friday, March 22, 2024, with the primary goal of fostering a love for literature. The students were cordially greeted with warm cookies andrefreshing lemonade as they eagerly participated in three engaging read-alouds. The store was abuzz with excitement as the scholars weregiven a comprehensive guided tour of the store. The visit culminated with students selecting books of their interest purchased with L4GA funds.

Stewart County Schools Host Spring Reading Celebration! Achieve 3000 and IXL

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, elementary, middle, and high school students in Stewart County schools reaped the fruit of some of their hard work. While the morning was filled with focused work in classrooms, the afternoon brought on the opportunity to celebrate. Teachers and students alike buzzed with excitement and great anticipation of the food, fun, and social activities planned to note their commitment and progress in Achieve 3000 and the IXL learning programs.

Returning Students:

If your child attended and completed the 2022-2023 school year with Stewart County Schools, then your child is considered a returning student. 

Withdrawals: 

If your child is withdrawing from the district, please come to the school in person. Only legal parents/ guardians will be allowed to withdraw students from the district.  

 New Students ONLY:

If your child is new to the district, please call the school for more information about enrollment. All required documents must be submitted prior to enrollment or to prevent any delays in the process. Thanks for choosing Stewart County Schools to educate your child(ren).
